Medical Staff Administration
The Medical Staff Administration Departments (also called the Medical Staff Office, or MSO) of the regional facilities are here to serve you and provide you with the resources and information you may need concerning medical staff membership, the exercise of your clinical privileges, ED call schedules, medical staff committees and meetings, and more.
The goal of the Credentials & Qualification’s Department (CQD) is to provide a cost-effective, high quality service for verifying credentials of healthcare practitioners for initial appointment and reappointment as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations as well as Medical Staff Policies and Procedures. Centralized processes are beneficial to improve patient care and quality, increase practice consistency within the system, create maximum operational efficiency, comply with all applicable laws and regulations, reduce duplication and improve physician/allied health professional satisfaction throughout the system’s facilities.
The Credentials and Qualifications Department is in charge of gathering and verifying essential information including, but not limited to: a practitioner’s background, education, training, experience, and current competence, much as a traditional medical staff office in an individual hospital would. These credentialists are responsible for compiling all information and upon completion of the Initial/Reappointment application (in full) forward a completed packet electronically to the individual Regions to which the practitioner is applying and/or has membership & clinical privileges for review and committee process approval.
In short, a “Centralized Office” acts as the “agent” of the provider to gather, verify, store and disseminate information about the practitioner in a bundled, well organized fashion, to the Medical Staff Administration Offices throughout the organization.“ We are the Repository of Information.”
We are here to serve the physicians, patients, office personnel, medical staff administration, and all customers we touch throughout this process.
